Sinclair Tower
DETAILS
Within the urban fabric of Vancouver, Sinclair Tower marks an iconic presence in the cityscape. Its distinctive roof structures have gained a renewed sense of identity through ZinCuTec’s specialized metal treatment.
As part of an extensive renovation, the tower was carefully revitalized. At the heart of the architectural renewal was the precise patination of the roof pinnacles, for which ZinCuTec developed dedicated processes and surface solutions. Through a finely calibrated and carefully controlled patina treatment, a surface emerged with dense, natural depth and a subtle sheen—one that not only references the building’s original character but translates it into a contemporary architectural expression.
The choice of patina was not merely a finish, but an integral part of the architectural concept. The metal surface responds subtly to light, evolving over time to create a living appearance that integrates organically into the city’s changing rhythm throughout the day.
With the development and realization of these patinated components, ZinCuTec made a significant contribution to the tower’s renewed identity. The craftsmanship combines technical precision with a refined sensitivity to material aesthetics, allowing the patinated metal skin not only to provide protection, but also to unfold an atmospheric depth that redefines the experience of the tower.
